FAQ

Will you bring the portrait studio to us or do we need to come to your studio?

We offer both in-studio or on-location corporate photography services! For groups of individuals in need of professional portraits, we offer our on-location corporate photography studio that can be setup easily at your company's office. Having an on-location corporate headshot studio come to your office allows your employees to stay productive right up until their allotted portrait time slot. However, for individuals, we offer both on-location (their home or office) or alternatively they can come to our home based portrait studio in Aldie, Virginia.

When it comes to corporate headshots and portraits, what are my options for portrait backdrops?

Most corporate headshots are either photographed against a solid color studio backdrop or shot as an environmental lifestyle or branding portrait.  For traditional studio portraits, we offer 16 different colors! Some of our most popular color requests are:  Dark Gray, Light Gray, Black, White, Blue, Light Blue and Tan.  If your company has a specific backdrop request that we don't have, we can have it ordered, in time for your photo shoot. For environmental lifestyle and branding portraits, we can photograph you either indoors, outdoors or both. Depending on the look you're trying to achieve.

How much does your a corporate headshot cost and why don't you list prices your prices on your website?

Photography estimates are based upon a wide variety of factors! Here's some of the thinking that goes into the estimate build:

  • How many people are being photographed?

  • How many different locations will we be photographing each person at?

  • How many final images will the client need?

  • How much post production needs to be done?

  • Where will the images be used?

  • How much travel time is involved?

Can you provide a makeup artist for our photoshoot? And do men need makeup as well?

We offer our in-house makeup artist Finn Mauritzen, who specializes in studio portrait makeup and production makeup. Professional makeup reduces shiny skin, evens out complexion, and hides blemishes. Makeup is recommended for both men and women. Anyone in front of bright lights and hoping to look polished can benefit from a professional makeup artist's magic.

What areas do you offer your on-location portrait studio?

Most of our corporate photography clients are located in Washington, DC, Northern Virginia and Maryland. We regularly travel to Alexandria, Arlington, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Prince William County and Montgomery County to name a few.

How often should I get my professional business portrait updated?

We all have that friend who still likes to use their portrait from 15 years ago!  However, most professionals get their headshot updated every 3 to 5 years.

Why do photographer's pricing vary so greatly? I see prices that are too good to be true and some that are astronomical!

Photography is an art. Your not hiring someone to mow your lawn. The photographer you choose should be someone whose work you respect, makes you feel comfortable during the photoshoot, and cares about making great images for you! There are thousands of so called "professional photographers" who are really just advanced amateurs, that do photography as a part-time side-hustle. They oftentimes don't have the on-set experience, professional equipment, nor skill set needed to deliver the experience you want and quality you deserve. Are they insured? How many years have they been in business? Where else has their work been published? These are just some of the questions you should be asking.
