In May 2016, Highlights for Children magazine published an article called “Picture This”, that I wrote and photographed. The purpose of the article was to teach children how to take better photographs of animals. I used a variety of lenses for the animal portraits, including a wide, telephoto and macro. Can you guess the type of dog photographed in the bottom right? Probably not enough to go on, so I’ll tell you…It’s our rescue greyhound Sasha.
I’ve had a long history of producing editorial photography work for Highlights for Children magazine, which started way back in 2005. The first assignment was probably the toughest. I had to locate a tree that had been debarked by a porcupine! My most recent project, was to capture a behind the scenes look at the Macy’s Day Parade production facility. That article appeared in the November 2019 issue of the magazine. I’ll share some photos from that soon!
